India vs Bangladesh T20 Series in Doubt Due to Protests
The much-anticipated T20 International series between India and Bangladesh is set to begin on October 6, but the first match in Gwalior faces uncertainty. The Hindu Mahasabha has called for a bandh (shutdown) on the same day in protest of alleged atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. This has raised concerns about the organization of the match.
Jaiveer Bhardwaj, Vice President of the Hindu Mahasabha, explained that the protest is against ongoing issues faced by Hindus in Bangladesh. He believes it is not right for India to play a match with Bangladesh under such circumstances. Although the bandh has been announced, essential services will be excluded from the shutdown. However, the fate of the match remains uncertain.
Currently, India is leading the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, having won the first Test by 280 runs in Chennai. The second and final Test will be played in Kanpur from September 27. Following the Test series, both teams are set to compete in a three-match T20 International series.
