The 2024-25 Test season was very bad for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Both of them are among Indiaโs best batsmen of the modern era, but their performance did not live up to expectations.
Rohit and Virat Aim to Bounce Back After Poor Test Form
Rohit scored just 164 runs in 15 innings of eight Tests, his average was just 10.93 and the best score was 52. At the same time, Virat scored a total of 382 runs in 19 innings of 10 Test matches, his average was 22.87, which included only one century and one half-century.

Rohit recently made a comeback in the Ranji Trophy but could score only 3 and 28 runs against Jammu and Kashmir. Virat also played a Ranji match against Railways after 12 years, but was out after scoring only 6 runs, when Himanshu Sangwanโs ball blew away his stumps.
Viratโs performance in international cricket was also not good last year. He scored only 655 runs in 32 innings of 23 matches, his average was 21.83, which included one century and two half-centuries. His best score was an unbeaten 100.
Rohit Sharmaโs Strong Performance in White-Ball Cricket
On the other hand, Rohitโs performance was better in white-ball (ODI and T20) cricket. He captained the Indian team to the title in the 2024 T20 World Cup and scored 378 runs in 11 matches. His average was 42.00 and his strike rate was 160.16.
During this, he scored one century and three half-centuries, with the best score being 121 runs. Rohit was the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament and Indiaโs top scorer with 257 runs in the T20 World Cup.
Talking about ODIs, Rohit played only three ODIs in 2024, all against Sri Lanka, in which he scored 157 runs. His average was 52.33 and his strike rate was 141.44, with two half-centuries and a best score of 64 runs.
