Indian Team’s Semi-Final Arrangements

If the Indian team reaches the semi-finals of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, then it will play the second semi-final in Guyana on June 27. According to news agency PTI, ICC has kept India in the semi-finals due to the timing of the match in Guyana.

The first semi-final in Trinidad will be played on June 26 at 8:30 pm local time, while in India it will be played on June 27 at 6 am. At the same time, the second semi-final will start at 10.30 am in Guyana, which will be played at 8 pm in India, while the final will be played on June 29 in Bridgetown, Barbados at 10 am local time. In India, it will happen at 7.30 pm.

No reserve Day Arrangements for T20 World Cup Semi-Finals

There will be no reserve day for the second semi-final. Instead, an additional time of 250 minutes will be given for the match. So, there will be 190 minutes of extra time and a reserve day for the first semi-final and final. Extra time was added in Semi-Final 2 as there is no slot for any reserve days in the tournament schedule, with only a one-day gap between the second Semi-Final and the Final. Each chasing team will have to play at least 10 overs to be declared victorious in the semi-finals and final.

T20 World Cup 2024: Schedule Overview

This time the T20 World Cup will be played in West Indies and America from June 2 to 29. The opening match of the tournament will take place in Dallas between Canada and home team USA. The final match will be played on June 29 in Barbados, West Indies. Super-8 and knockout matches will be held in the West Indies. Top-4 teams of the Super-8 will enter the semi-finals.

Stage-wise Timeline

  • Group Stage Matches: The group stage matches are slated to be held from June 2 to June 17, featuring teams vying for a spot in the Super-8 stage.
  • Super-8 Stage: Following the group stage, the Super-8 matches will unfold from June 19 to June 24, where top-performing teams will advance to the knockout rounds.
  • Knockout Round: The knockout phase of the tournament is set to kick off on June 26, featuring intense matches as teams vie for a spot in the semi-finals and ultimately the final.

Team India’s Fixture

  • Opening Match: Team India will commence its campaign against Ireland on June 5, marking the beginning of their journey in the T20 World Cup 2024.
  • Key Matches: India’s subsequent matches include encounters against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9, followed by clashes against America on June 12 and Canada on June 15, shaping their path towards the knockout rounds
