After Pakistan’s defeat in the ongoing T20 World Cup match in Dubai, the Indian Women’s Team has been eliminated from the tournament. The New Zealand team won this match almost one-sided.
The Indian women’s team lost against Australia by a very small margin and needed the Pakistan team to stay in this tournament. But it was the misfortune of the Indian team and the Pakistan team lost this match. The Pakistan women’s team surrendered in front of the aggressive bowling of the New Zealand team.
Poor batting of the Pakistan team:
The New Zealand women’s team invited the Pakistan women’s team to bowl first. The New Zealand team started their batting in the right way. Georgia Plimer and Suzie Bates shared a 41-run partnership for the first wicket.
However, Nashra Sandhu showed excellent bowling from the Pakistan women’s team. He pushed the team on the back foot by taking three important wickets in the middle overs. Indian women’s team’s bad start in T20 World Cup:
The Indian women’s team’s start in the T20 World Cup was not very good. They had to face defeat by 58 runs in the very first match. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the team made a comeback and defeated Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
But against Australia, the Indian team had to face defeat by very few runs. After this defeat, the Indian team was depending on the Pakistan team to stay in this tournament. After the defeat of the Pakistan women’s team, now the Indian women’s team is out of this tournament.
Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, and Richa Ghosh struggled with their batting for the Indian women’s team. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Renuka Singh Thakur were the only key contributors to India’s innings.
