Tilak Varma Breaks Kohli Record: India’s left-hand batter, Tilak Varma registered his name in record books by surpassing Virat Kohli’s previous feat for the most runs in T20Is without being dismissed.
The youngster achieved this during India’s narrow two-wicket victory against England in the second T20I at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on January 25.
Tilak Varma Surpasses Virat Kohli’s T20 Record
chasing the target of 666, Tilak puts a heroic with an unbeaten lank in the Blue innings, including five sixes and four boundaries. New Zealand’s Mark Chapman broke the previous record of 19 runs. After Chapman, Shreyas Iyer (240), Aaron Finch (240) and David Warner (239) are all on the list of time.
In doing so, the 22-year-old boy scored the highest score in the four -consecutive T20 innings. The 36-year-old boy of 258 was the benchmark, followed by Sanju Samson (257), Rohit Sharma (253) and Shikhar Dhawan (252).
The match itself was a nail-biter. England batted first, with the contribution of Jose Butler (45), a total of 555/9 and Breeden Cars (Balls -1 balls) were kept in the total with a huge prosperity. For India, Varun Chakraborty and Axar Patel took two wickets each.

A Historic Knock in Chennai
The chase of the host, however, was smooth. Despite the heavy start from Abhishek Sharma, the medium order failed under the pressure of the England bowlers. Samson and Suryakumar Yadav were dismissed early and wickets fell at regular intervals.
Tilak, however, turned his back and capitalized on loose distribution. Significantly, he scored four sixes to Jofra Archer in his four overs quota. Archer scored 60 runs in a forgetful outing.
Tilk was supported by Washington Sundar. The duo added 38 runs for the sixth wicket. India needs six runs to win in the final over. Tilak sealed the game with the second ball border and gave India a 2-0 series lead.
