IPL 2023 Auction: CSK saved the sinking boat of Ajinkya Rahane’s career by buying him at his base price.

IPL 2023 Auction: Ajinkya Rahane is walking out of the Indian team. His base price was ₹50 lakhs. In the IPL auction, CSK bought him for ₹50 lakhs.



A new record was made in the IPL 2023 auction. Punjab Kings bought all-rounder Sam Curran for Rs 18.50 crore. Sam Curran became the most expensive player of this tournament. The IPL auction was very good for many players, but any franchise showed interest in some players.


A surprising thing came to light during the IPL auction that CSK included Ajinkya Rahane in their camp. Betting on a player whose career was almost on the verge of ending. It looked quite unbelievable. Dhoni (MS Dhoni) team included Ajinkya Rahane in his team at his base price. Chennai Super Kings is the second most successful team in the IPL. The team has shown his excellent understanding by including Ajinkya Rahane, a player running out of the Indian team, in his camp.

Ajinkya Rahane’s brilliant performance was seen in domestic cricket. Due to this, he impressed everyone. Although, Rahane proved to be a flop in three seasons of IPL. Last season, he could only score 133 runs in 7 matches at an average of 19, so Kolkata Knight Riders released him for the season 2023.

Ajinkya Rahane was the captain of the Indian team and is currently out of the Indian team. He played his last Test in January 2022 against South Africa. Since then he has not been included in the team. Rahane was released by Kolkata Knight Riders before the mini-auction.

He scored only 133 runs in 7 matches in IPL 2022. For this reason, he was also kept out of playing XI. But it is also believed that due to injury, he did not perform anything special.
