BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Discusses Impact Player Rule in IPL

BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Friday said that the impact player rule has been implemented in the IPL on an experimental basis and it can be reconsidered after taking into consideration the views of the stakeholders. Due to this rule, more than 250 runs were scored in this year’s session.

According to players, coaches, and experts, bowlers are being harmed by this rule. With this, the team gets an extra batsman. According to Indian captain Rohit Sharma, due to this all-rounders are not even getting a chance to bowl.

Impact Player Rule Sparks Debate

Shah said that this rule has been implemented on an experimental basis. Is it not important that this rule gives the added advantage of playing two Indian players? A class is being created in the game. If the players feel it is unfair then we will discuss it with the stakeholders. No one has raised any objection yet. A decision on this will be taken in the meeting. This is not a permanent rule and I have no intention of abolishing this rule. The views of players, team owners, and broadcasters will be taken into account.

Bowler Dissoppintment on Impact Player Rule

Mohammad Siraj’s statement that batsmen are aggressive with the start of the ball, bowlers are disappointed. There is no fear in the batsman because he knows there is an extra batter in the team.
