In the 11th match of the 17th IPL season, Lucknow Super Giants secured their first win by defeating Punjab Kings. Lucknow set Punjab a target of 200 runs, with Captain Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow putting up a formidable 102-run partnership. Despite the strong start, Punjab faltered after Bairstow and Dhawan’s dismissals, failing to chase the target and handing Lucknow a crucial victory.

Lucknow’s triumph propelled them up the points table, jumping five places from 10th to 5th position. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings slid down to 6th place following their defeat. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, suffered a setback, plummeting to the bottom of the table after Lucknow’s victory. The points table now sees Chennai Super Kings leading with two consecutive wins, followed closely by Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals
Chennai Super Kings, currently leading the table, are set to face Delhi Capitals next. With the opportunity to secure a hat-trick of victories, Chennai aims to maintain its dominance in the tournament.
