The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which was suspended due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, is set to restart. The tournament was postponed after 57 matches had been completed, with the suspension beginning just before the match between PBKS and DC.
As per the Times of India report, with a ceasefire coming into effect on May 10, the IPL can resume soon. The BCCI is planning to restart the league by May 15 or 16. A final decision is expected soon, and a new schedule will be released shortly.
BCCI Meeting and Foreign Players’ Return
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently holding an important meeting to finalise the remaining matches of IPL 2025. According to reports, all the remaining matches will take place at various venues across India, except for Dharamsala, which may be skipped due to security concerns.
Many foreign players left India amid rising tensions, but the BCCI plans to request their return so they can rejoin their teams as soon as possible. Over 60 overseas players are participating in the IPL this season, making them vital to their respective franchises.
Gujarat Titans Lead Points Table
Before the suspension, Gujarat Titans, led by Shubman Gill, were at the top of the IPL 2025 points table. Teams like RCB, PBKS, and Mumbai Indians were also in the top four. With the league resuming soon, it will be exciting to see which teams make it to the IPL 2025 playoffs.
The fans can now look forward to thrilling cricket once again, as the BCCI works to smoothly restart the remaining matches of the tournament.
