In the first innings of the Irani Cup match, Mumbai reached the 500 mark on the strength of Sarfraz Khan’s unbeaten double-century. Mumbai scored 537 runs all out. Sarfraz Khan contributed the most runs from Mumbai. Sarfraz scored an unbeaten 222 off 286 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 25 fours. Apart from Sarfraz, captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 97 runs. While Shreyas Iyer added 57 runs and Tanush Kotian added 64 runs.
Mumbai’s Sarfaraz Khan scored an unbeaten double-century in the Irani Cup. After that Abhimanyu Iswaran has scored a century from Rest of India. Abhimanyu completed this century with the help of 1 six and 8 fours in 117 balls against Mumbai on the third day. The rest of India got off to a bad start. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad returned after scoring 9 runs. Sai Sudarshan could score only 32 runs. Devdutt Padikkal could only contribute 16 runs. But Abhimanyu kept one side and completed the century. This was Abhimanyu’s 26th century in first-class cricket. Abhimanyu completes his hat-trick of centuries with this inning. Abhimanyu had earlier scored centuries in the second and third-round matches of the recently concluded Duleep Trophy.
Abhimanyu is consistently scoring runs in first-class cricket. But the wait for Abhimanyu’s Test debut is not over. Abhimanyu has been selected for the team many times.
