ICC released the weekly ranking chart. In this list, England batsman Joe Root reached number one by surpassing his own teammate batsman Harry Brook. With this achievement, Root became the number one batsman in Tests.

New Zealand defeated England in the last Test match. Joe Root was the only player in the team to score a half-century in the first innings and played an important role in the second innings.

In the latest ICC rankings, Joe Root has jumped to a rating of 895. Earlier Brook was in the first place. Now Brook is after him in the list with a rating of 876. The performance of the Indian players during the Gabba Test match was not very good, so there was no significant change in the position of these players in this list.

Indian team captain Rohit Sharma’s performance was quite disappointing. Still, Rohit Sharma jumped one place. Shubman Gill also improved in the Test rankings. He moved up one place, reaching the 16th position. Virat Kohli’s ranking did not change; he is still in 20th position.
