Kuldeep Yadav Set to Play on His Home Ground
The second Test match between India and Bangladesh is set to begin on Friday at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The local hero this time is Kuldeep Yadav, the talented spinner from Kanpur. Kuldeep, who made his Test debut in 2017, has never played an international match on his home ground. But this time, it seems his wait will end, and he will likely get a chance to play in front of his home crowd.
India is expected to field three spinners in the Kanpur Test due to the pitch conditions. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are already confirmed to play. Kuldeep Yadav is the top choice as the third spinner for the Indian team. Captain Rohit Sharma and coach Gautam Gambhir closely examined the pitch and discussed their strategy with the pitch curators. The pitch at Green Park is expected to help spinners, especially in the last three days of the match, which makes Kuldeep’s inclusion more likely.
Kuldeep Yadav has performed well in the limited chances he has received in Test cricket. He has taken 53 wickets in 12 Test matches, including four five-wicket hauls. His last Test match was against England in March, where he took seven wickets, including five in one innings. The Kanpur pitch is expected to suit his spin bowling, and fans are excited to see him in action on his home ground.
With the conditions favoring spin, Kuldeep Yadav is expected to replace Mohammad Siraj in the playing XI. This could be a big moment for Kuldeep as he finally gets to play a Test match in front of his home crowd in Kanpur.
