KKR Appoints Dwayne Bravo as New Mentor After Retirement

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have selected a new mentor. Dwayne Bravo taking over the reins of the team just a few hours after announcing his retirement.

Looking for an alternative to Gautam Gambhir. Kolkata Knight Riders have appointed West Indies veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo as their new mentor. Bravo, who had been playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Dwayne Bravo announced his retirement from all formats of cricket a few hours earlier due to an injury. He explained that his body was no longer supporting him, despite his initial plan to retire after the CPL. However, a back injury sustained while fielding accelerated his decision. Shortly after announcing his retirement, Bravo was appointed to replace Gautam Gambhir, who has taken on the role of head coach for Team India. Bravo will now lead KKR as their mentor.

Dwayne Bravo Replaces Gautam Gambhir

It’s worth noting that Kolkata Knight Riders had been searching for a new mentor since Gambhir became the head coach of India’s national team. Under Gambhir’s leadership, KKR won the 2024 IPL title. Following Bravo’s retirement announcement. The franchise quickly brought him in as their new mentor. Prior to this, Bravo had been associated with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where he served as the bowling coach.

Dwayne Bravo had a long and successful stint with CSK. He has also worked as a coach, having won multiple titles in bowling. Additionally, Bravo played for the Trinbago Knight Riders, a team in the Knight Riders franchise, during his time in the Caribbean Premier League.
