“Rahul’s Road to Redemption: From Injury Setback to IPL 2024 Ambitions – A Cricket Comeback Tale”

Lokesh Rahul, who faced a pre-match injury during the second Test against England, had to withdraw from the series and missed subsequent matches. Despite being selected for the third Test, he didn’t feature in the final XI due to a 90% fitness level. Rahul joined the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and aimed for a possible comeback in the later Tests, but his name was omitted from the squad for the fifth Test, raising questions about his participation in IPL 2024 and the Twenty20 World Cup 2024.

As the BCCI medical team couldn’t determine the cause of Rahul’s injury, he underwent surgery in London and has returned to India. Currently at the NCA in Bangalore, he will undergo further treatment and is expected to receive a return-to-play certificate soon. Eager to showcase his skills in the IPL and potentially secure a spot as a wicketkeeper-batsman in India’s Twenty20 World Cup team, Rahul is focused on rehabilitation.
