Kumar Sangakkara in Line for England’s White-Ball Head Coach
After the recent changes in England cricket, the big news is that Rajasthan’s cricket operations director and former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara can become the next head coach of the English white-ball team. The last few months have not been good for the England team. While England was eliminated in the initial stages of the Fifty-Fifty World Cup played in India last year, it could not even defend the T20 World Cup title held recently in the Windies. This is the reason why the English Cricket Board has now decided to take some big decisions.

Possible Long-Term Plans for England
The ECB is considering long-term strategies, which include possibly making Jos Buttler the permanent captain. On Tuesday, Matthew Mott resigned from his position as the white-ball head coach. Former coach Marcus Trescothick has been temporarily appointed as the team’s coach, but Sangakkara is being considered for the permanent role. Reports suggest that Buttler recommended Sangakkara to the ECB due to his extensive experience as a player.
Butler and Sangakkara’s Strong Bond
Now you know that Butler has spent a lot of time with Sangakkara while playing for Rajasthan. This is the reason why both of them together can once again offer their services to English cricket. However, if Sangakkara takes up the post of white-ball head coach, then he may have to leave Rajasthan Royals.

Dravid’s Potential Influence
This fact also gives strength to this fact, when recently the news came that Rajasthan Royals have contacted former Team India coach Rahul Dravid. There are full chances of Dravid becoming a part of the Rajasthan cricket set-up. And if there is news of Sangakkara joining English cricket, then Dravid also seems to be a big reason behind it. Along with Sangakkara, there are two other former England cricketers, Andrew Flintoff and Mike Hussey, who are in the race to become the next head coach of England.
Kumar Sangakkara’s potential appointment as the head coach of England’s white-ball team could mark a new era for English cricket. His experience and strong bond with Buttler might prove beneficial for the team. The ECB’s decision will be crucial in shaping the future of England’s white-ball cricket.
