England Levels T20 Series with Thrilling Win Against Australia
England returned to the three-match T20 series against Australia, defeating Australia by three wickets in the second T20 match on Friday, 13 September. After being invited to bat first, Australia scored a huge score of 193/6 in 20 overs thanks to the first half-century of Jack Fraser-Macgarck (31 balls).
In response, England achieved the target in 19 overs. Liam Livingstone played a brilliant innings of 87 (47) runs and put his team on par in the series. For Australia, Matthew Short put in a spectacular spell of 5/22 in three overs, which went in vain.

Australia’s Strong Start
Earlier in the day, when invited to bat first, Travis Head once again made Australia a brilliant start by scoring 31 runs, but in the fifth over he fell victim to Bridan Karse. Matthew Short also failed to capitalize on his debut and was dismissed by 28 runs off 24 balls. He was bowled clean by Adil Rashid.
However, Jack Fraser-Mackgrack scored his first T20 I half-century by scoring 50 runs off 31 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. On the other hand, Josh England (42 runs off 26 balls) also scored runs in the middle overs. Finally, Cameron Green (13 not out on 8 balls not unbeaten) and Aaron Hardy (20 not out of 9 balls) played a useful innings. For England, Bridan Cars (2/26) and Liam Livingstone (2/16, 3 overs) took two wickets each.

Livingstone’s Heroics Lead England to Victory
In response, the hosts were shocked by Sean Abbott in the beginning. In the fourth over, Will Jacks (12 runs off 10 balls) and Jordan Cox (0 off 2 balls) were dismissed, leading to the England team’s score to 34/2. Captain Phil Salt maintained the necessary run rate by playing a fast innings of 39 runs off 23 balls but returned to the pavilion after being dismissed by Matthew Short.
However, Livingstone did not matter to this, he blown away the Australian bowlers with his bat and made an aggressive innings of 87 runs off 47 balls to ensure the victory for the team. He got good support from Jacob Bethel (44 off 24 balls) and both added 90 off 47 balls for the fourth wicket and blew away the Australian bowling attack.
Despite a great bowling performance by Matthew Short, who took 5/22, Australia couldn’t stop England from leveling the series. The final T20 will be a thrilling decider between the two teams.
