Lizelle Lee’s aggressive batting helped the Hurricanes win over Scorchers and set new records in WBBL.
Hobart Hurricanes’ opener, Lizelle Lee, delivered an explosive performance against the Perth Scorchers. She scored 150 runs in 75 balls.
With her aggressive batting, she made the record of the highest score in WBBL. Earlier this record was registered in the name of Grace Harris (136 runs). Despite stepping away from international cricket, Lee showcased her exceptional playing style. Batting brilliantly, Lee dominated the Scorchers’ bowlers and led her team to victory.
Lizelle Lee Sets WBBL Highest Score and Sixes Record
The Hurricanes Women’s team had a poor start. They lost two wickets for just 16 runs. Lizelle Lee counter-back by hitting two sixes in the very next over. She completed her half-century in 29 balls. She completed her century in 51 balls and set a new record. During her innings, she hit 12 sixes. Which is the highest number of sixes in women’s T20 to date.
Perth Scorchers could not make a comeback after initial setbacks:
It was a challenging target for Perth Scorchers, who came to the field to chase 204 runs. Molly Strano sent Sophie Devine back to the pavilion on the very first ball. Chloe Piparo was run out on zero. The Scorchers’ score became 15/3 after Dayalan Hemalatha was out.
Heather Graham took an important wicket for the team. Therefore, the team could not make a comeback again. Chloe Ainsworth played a good innings of 41 runs with some big hits but it was not successful in getting the team victory. Scorchers were all out for 131 runs. The team had to face defeat by 72 runs. It seemed that this day belonged to Lizelle Lee. Her brilliant batting impressed cricket fans a lot. She set many records in this regard, which were recorded in WBBL.
