Mayank Yadav Faces Setback Due to Back Injury Ahead of England Series

Mayank Yadav Injury for England Series: Team India’s young fast bowler, Mayank Yadav made a lot of headlines for his blistering pace and wicket-taking ability for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team in the Indian Premier League 2024. However, the pacer suffered an injury mid-tournament and was ruled out mid-way through the tournament. His comeback was then straightaway with the Indian team, where he made his debut in the T20I series against Bangladesh in October last year

Mayank Yadav’s Injury Could Rule Him Out of England T20I Series

After playing three T20Is against Bangladesh and taking four wickets, Mayank Yadav was expected to play in the upcoming T20I series against England, starting January 22. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not announced the squad yet. However, media reports suggest that the fast bowler may miss the series due to a back injury.

Mayank’s Back Injury and Setback for England Series

A BCCI source was quoted as saying by the Times of India, “He is suffering from a back injury and is unlikely to be fit for the England series. He has also not been named among the probables for Delhi’s first Ranji match of the second phase against Saurashtra from January 23.”

Talking about Mayank Yadav, he made his mark by bowling his first over maiden in the first T20 match. He became the third bowler after Ajit Agarkar and Arshdeep Singh to do so. He had a brief stint for LSG in IPL 2024 and in four matches, the right-arm pacer took seven wickets at an average of 12.14 and an economy rate of 6.98.
