Controversy and Speculation Surrounds Mohammad Hafeez Abrupt Departure from Pakistan Cricket
The controversies in the Pakistan cricket team show no signs of stopping. There were already many complications within the Pakistan cricket team, and now a new issue has arisen. There were only 24 hours left for the announcement of the Pakistan cricket team for the World Cup when Mohammad Hafeez resigned.
The Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to be announced for the World Cup 2023 today, on Friday, 22nd September. However, just before the team’s announcement, a new storm has erupted in Pakistan cricket. Former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has resigned from the Pakistan Cricket Technical Committee.
The World Cup is set to begin on 5th October, and a meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board was held regarding this. Immediately after the Pakistan Cricket Board meeting for the ODI World Cup squad, Mohammad Hafeez announced his resignation. His decision suggests that there might have been a dispute or disagreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board, leading to his resignation. He made this announcement on his Twitter account.
Hafeez wrote in his tweet,
“I have served as an honorary member of the Pakistan Cricket Technical Committee, and I have decided to leave the Cricket Technical Committee. I am thankful to Zaka Ashraf SB for giving me this opportunity. If Zaka Ashraf ever needs my honest suggestions for Pakistan cricket, I am always available. As always, my best wishes to Pakistan cricket. Pakistan Zindabad.”
The PCB Cricket Technical Committee had appointed former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez as a member of the PCB Cricket Technical Committee on 2 August 2023. However, he tendered his resignation after only 51 days. Following Hafeez’s resignation, people on Twitter began speculating that something was seriously wrong in Pakistan cricket, while some fans started making fun of Pakistan cricket once again.
