Former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has stepped forward to support Captain Babar Azam amidst the wave of criticism following Pakistan’s exit from the Asia Cup.
Mohammad Hafeez emphasised that we needs to boost Team morale for the World Cup
Hafeez stressed that Babar Azam should not bear the sole responsibility for the team’s defeat and called for collective support as Pakistan gears up for the World Cup, scheduled to commence on October 5 in India. He emphasised that what Babar needs now is not criticism but backing to boost his morale for the upcoming tournament.
Mohammad Hafeez stated,
“If we do not acknowledge the captain’s contribution in reaching the finals, we should not solely blame him for the defeat. No single player should shoulder the entire blame for the team’s loss. It is unfair to attribute the entire defeat to any one player. Instead, we must rally behind Captain Babar Azam as we prepare for the forthcoming World Cup. This is not the time for frivolous matters.
everyone should be focused on the upcoming mega tournament. Any decisions regarding the captaincy can be contemplated after the World Cup. Our current objective should be the World Cup, and we must accept our defeat in the Asia Cup. It is imperative that we acknowledge our mistakes and work on rectifying them. There may have been errors in our planning, considering that this player has been a part of the national team for the past two to three years.”
