Now the last hopes of the Indian team are from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be held later this year.

Mohammed Shami has posted a video on his official Instagram account, in which he is seen sweating profusely in the gym. During this, he has written in the caption that I am trying and improve my bowling fitness day by day. I want to apologize to the fans and BCCI, but promise that I am working hard and will return to red-ball cricket soon.

Injury Concerns Keep Shami Off the Field

Mohammed Shami has been away from the cricket field since the ODI World Cup 2023 final due to an ankle injury. The injury was so serious that he also underwent surgery and after that, he remained in rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, as the BCCI’s target was to make him fit for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Reports had come out about him that while he was doing rehabilitation, his knee got swollen once again. In such a situation, it is being speculated that BCCI did not select him for the team due to his fitness. However, BCCI did not give any information about his fitness.
