Mumbai Squad for Ranji Trophy Quarterfinals: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced the Ranji Trophy squad. The match will begin on February 8 at the Chaudhary Bansilal Cricket Stadium, Lahli, in Rohtak
Mumbai Announces Ranji Trophy Squad for Quarterfinals
The defending champions have included India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Shivam Dubey in the squad for this crucial match.
Mumbai, the most successful team in Ranji Trophy history with 42 titles, finished second in Elite Group A with 29 points. They needed a win over Meghalaya in their final league match to qualify for the knockout stages, which they achieved comfortably.
Shardul Thakur played a key role in that victory with an all-round performance. Despite not being at their best, Mumbai managed to stay in the top half of the points table and will now face Group C leaders Haryana.
Suryakumar, who had a forgettable performance in the T20 series against England, will look to regain his form in the red-ball format, scoring just 28 runs in five matches. With India set to play a limited-overs T20I series soon, Surya will be back in domestic cricket soon.
Although he played one Ranji Trophy match earlier this season, he has been mostly busy playing white-ball cricket, helping Mumbai win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Dubey, on the other hand, had a good T20I series, scoring a half-century in place of the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy in Pune. He also took wickets. However, his last Ranji match against Jammu and Kashmir was a poor one, as he was dismissed for a pair.
Mumbai have announced an 18-member squad led by Ajinkya Rahane. Apart from Suryakumar and Dubey, the squad features players like Shardul Thakur and Shams Mulani, as well as youngsters like Tanush Kotian, Ayush Mhatre and Suryansh Shedge. Harsh Tanna has also been included in place of Shreyas Gurav.
