There is disappointing news for the Bangladesh team ahead of the Super-4 match in the Asia Cup against India, scheduled for September 15th. Star batsman Mushfiqur Rahim will not be able to participate in the match against India.
The team’s wicketkeeper-batsman will not be able to join the squad against India. Mushfiqur Rahim has become a father once again and, as a result, returned to Bangladesh on September 9th to spend time with his family. Therefore, he will not be able to take the field against India, and his absence will be felt by the Bangladesh team.
Mushfiqur wife, Jannatul Kifayet, gave birth to their precious daughter on Monday. Mushfiqur shared these joyous moments on social media, celebrating the good news by posting an adorable picture of his son Shahroz Rahim holding a placard that read, “It’s a baby girl.”
In the caption of his post, Rahim expressed, “Assalamualaikum to all. Alhamdulillah, Almighty Allah has blessed us with a baby girl. Both mother and child are under observation. Please pray for us.” With this information, Mushfiqur Rahim returned home on September 9th to spend time with his wife.
He has taken a break from the team to prioritize his family. Bangladesh may miss this player in the match against India. This match is essentially a formality because, having lost their first two matches, Bangladesh is already out of contention for the final. In such a situation, even if they win their last match, they will not be able to reach the final, whereas the Indian team has secured their place in the final by defeating Sri Lanka.
