Nathan Lyon 150 wickets: Nathan Lyon is improving with age and this is visible in his bowling. 37-year-old Lyon created history by taking three wickets on the first day of the second Test against Sri Lanka. He became the first foreign bowler to take 150 wickets on Asian soil.

Nathan Lyon Makes History with 150 Wickets in Asia

Nathan Lyon took three wickets for 78 runs including 5 maidens in his spell of 30 overs on the first day of the second Test being played in Galle.

He clean-bowled Sri Lankan openers Pathum Nissanka (11) and Dimuth Karunaratne (36), who were playing his farewell match and made veteran Angelo Mathews (1) his third victim. Lyon achieved this feat as soon as he dismissed Angelo Mathews.

Australiaโ€™s veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon completed 150 wickets in his 30th Test in Asia. This means his average was 30 balls per wicket. Apart from Nathan Lyon, late Australian cricketer Shane Warne is in second place in terms of taking the most wickets on Asian soil.

Most Wickets by Foreign Bowlers in Asia

The great leg spinner Shane Warne took 127 wickets in 25 Tests in Asia. Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori is in third place with 98 wickets in 21 Tests. Former England fast bowler James Anderson is in fourth place with 92 wickets in 32 Tests
