New Zealand announced its ODI and T20 team against Sri Lanka.
The team for the New Zealand cricket team has been announced for the T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka. Uncapped players earning spots in the lineup. Among them, Bevan Jacobs is set to make his debut in the T20 series.
Some key players of the team like Kane Williamson and Devon Conway will not be part of the team in this series. These senior players will participate in the SA20 competition. Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell and Matt Henry were not part of the limited-overs team recently. Now they have returned to the team again. The team will be led by white-ball captain Mitchell Santner, who replaces Williamson in this role.
Jacobs included in the T20I team for the first time for the Sri Lanka series
Auckland Aces star batsman Bevan Jacobs, who played an aggressive innings of 39 runs in 16 balls in the practice match against Sri Lanka, will make his debut in this series. Bevan Jacobs was included only in the T20 series. Jacobs has been given a place in the team due to his excellent performance. His strike rate in domestic matches has been 188.73. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL mega auction.
The T20I team includes players like Jack Foulkes, Mitch Hay and Tim Robinson. These are mainly new players who started their international careers on the Sri Lanka tour. The ODI team includes key players like Tom Latham, Will O’Rourke and Will Young. They are not a part of the T20 Team.
Latham will play the role of wicketkeeper-batsman. O’Rourke and Young will show their ODI batting experience. Luke Ronchi will be the head coach for this series. Before this, Gary Stead was playing the role of coach for a long time.
