Will Young has also become the first-century scorer in the ninth edition of the tournament. New Zealand, who came to bat after losing the toss, could not get the expected start. Will completed his hundred by scoring 1 run on the second ball of the 35th over. Will completed his century in 107 balls. Will hit 11 fours and 1 six in this hundred. This was also the fourth century in Willβs ODI career. Will broke the record of young New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra. Rachin has scored 3 centuries in ODI cricket.
He also became the fourth New Zealand batsman to score a century in Champions Trophy history. The others are:
