India’s T20 World Cup Journey Begins Against Ireland
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team will begin their T20 World Cup journey against Ireland on June 5. Rohit is playing his 9th T20 World Cup and everyone hopes that Rohit and his team will end India’s 11-year drought of winning the ICC tournament this year. This might be Rohit, Virat Kohli’s last Twenty20 World Cup, so all eyes are on their performance. The head coach Rahul Dravid will be released from the responsibility of Team India after the World Cup. When Rohit was asked about former captain Dravid ahead of the match against Ireland, he got emotional.

Rohit Sharma’s Strategic Focus and Emotional Tribute to Dravid
Ahead of the match against Ireland, Rohit said, “Our focus is on batting, bowling, fielding, not what the opposition is doing. When you play in different situations, communication becomes important. We have talked about this a lot. I didn’t watch yesterday’s match. My family was coming so I was busy with that. As far as pitches are concerned, there are four pitches. We don’t know which pitch we will play on. Along with batting, bowling is also important in such a pitch.
“We never thought we would get to play cricket in America. Local people are wishing you well. I think this is the right decision,” said Rohit. He further commented on the decision to select 4 spinners. He said the role of the spinner will be important here. Our two spinners Jadeja and Akshar are versatile. All-rounders are needed if the team is to be balanced. Among the fast bowlers, we have Hardik and Shivam. Considered how to use them. These four will play a big role. Let’s see if these four can play together.
Dravid’s last tournament as coach “He was my first international captain. We saw him play. He is a great role model for all of us. He has done a lot for the team over the years. We won almost all major tournaments with him. He’s the first person to say we want to do this, this is important to the team. I have personally tried to retain him as a coach, but he has his priorities. I won’t be able to see him go,” says an emotional Rohit.
