The Road Back to Team India

Ishan Kishan’s inclusion in the Jharkhand squad comes after he informed the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) of his decision. After pulling out of the South Africa tour due to personal reasons, Ishan was left with no choice but to play domestic cricket to make a comeback to Team India. The BCCI was reportedly unhappy with his actions after photos of him partying in Dubai surfaced. Former coach Rahul Dravid had emphasized the need to prove oneself in domestic cricket after a break or injury, which Ishan ignored by not playing in the Ranji Trophy. As a result, he was excluded from the BCCI’s annual contract.

He made his Test debut in 2023 but now faces the challenge of securing his place in the national team once again. The Buchi Babu Trophy could be a crucial step for him in proving his form and fitness. It remains to be seen if Ishan can make a successful comeback and cement his place in Team India.
