The New Zealand team is on the back foot in the match being played in Christchurch against England. By the end of the third day’s play, New Zealand has taken the lead of four runs by scoring 155 runs after losing six wickets in its second innings.
New Zealand Struggles Against England in Christchurch Test

Smith showed the way to the pavilion to Gus Atkinson who was successful in scoring 48 runs. In his innings, he faced 36 balls and hit four fours and two sixes.
His wicket fell at 445. Ben Stokes was moving towards a century but Henry ended his innings. Stokes scored 80 runs with the help of nine fours in 146 balls. England’s innings ended with Henry getting Shoaib Bashir out. Barydon Carse remained unbeaten after scoring 33 runs.
Henry took four wickets for New Zealand. Smith got three wickets. Tim Southee took two and Will O’Rourke took one wicket.

NZ vs ENG 1st Test: England Posts a Strong Total
England had taken a lead of 151 runs against New Zealand. It was expected that New Zealand would score big in the second innings and give England a strong target, but this was not possible. The team got a weak start. Tom Latham was out in the third over itself.
He scored one run. Devon Conway could score only eight runs. Kane Williamson held one end, but wickets kept falling from the other end. Rachin Ravindra scored only 24 runs. Blundell could not even open the account. Glenn Phillips could not take his innings beyond 19 runs
Williamson Reaches 9000 Test Runs but New Zealand’s Hopes Rely on Mitchell
Williamson was batting well. During this, he also completed his 9000 runs in Tests, but could not score a century. He scored 61 runs with the help of seven fours in his innings of 86 balls. The Kiwi team has crossed England’s score, but it is not expected that they can give a big target to the visiting team. A lot will depend on Mitchell.
