England Crush Pakistan in Historic Test Win
England cricket team has started the Pakistan tour with a win. The first match of the 3-match series between the two teams was played in Multan. England won the match in the first session on the fifth day. England defeated Pakistan by 1 innings and 47 runs. This is the most embarrassing defeat for Pakistan in their history of Test cricket. Also, in the 147-year history of Test cricket, Pakistan became the first team to lose a match in such a manner. No team has ever been defeated in such a humiliating manner in the history of Test cricket.
Pakistan scored 556 runs in the first innings. Pakistan had an amazing start. So there were signs that the match would be a draw. But on the fourth day of the match, all the equations changed. In the last session, the game changed to Pakistan losing by an innings and 47 runs. Pakistan became the first team in the history of Test cricket to lose more than 500 runs in the first innings.
In reply to Pakistan’s 556, England declared their first innings at 823 runs. England thus took a lead of 267 runs. But Pakistan could only reach 220 runs in the second innings and England won. Pakistani team started the fifth day at 152 for 4. But England’s bowlers bowled Pakistan by 6 runs in the first session itself.
Meanwhile, Harry Brook and Joe Root became the architects of England’s victory. Root scored 262 runs. Harry Brook scored 317 runs. Harry became the first England batsman to score a triple century in 34 years. The duo shared the highest run partnership for any wicket for England. The duo added 454 runs for the fourth wicket. Jack Leach took a total of 7 wickets in both the innings.
