Pat Cummins: The Top Captain in World Cricket, Says Karthik

Dinesh Karthik on Pat Cummins: Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has been chosen as the number one captain of current cricket. Karthik has not named Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. The former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman has chosen Pat Cummins as the number one captain.

Karthik Praises Cummins’ Leadership Skills

Recently, India was defeated by Australia in the Test series in which Cummins’ captaincy was also important. Under Cummins’ captaincy, Australia managed to beat India in the 2024-25 season of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and win the series 3-1, despite losing the first Test in Perth by 295 runs.

Impressed by Cummins’ captaincy, Karthik said “Pat is the most aggressive cricketer in the world right now and has immense leadership potential.” Karthik, who retired from Indian cricket last year.

While talking to DK in the new episode of Hesby, said, “I think Cummins is the most aggressive cricketer in the world right now. and he doesn’t do it by talking or abusing. His body language, the way he deals with the media, and his behaviour after the match and before the match, make him the number one captain.

Cummins’ Remarkable Achievements as Captain

The former Indian legend further said, “For me, he is the number one captain in the world right now.” In the recently concluded five-match Test series against India, Cummins played all five matches and scored 159 runs with the bat in eight innings, took 25 wickets and showed world cricket what a captain should be like.

Cummins (Pat Cummins’s captaincy record across all formats) has captained 33 matches in Tests so far, in which Australia has won 20. In ODIs, Pat Cummins has captained 17 matches so far and led the Australian team to victory in 13. Overall in international cricket, Cummins has captained 48 matches and Australia has won 31. At the same time, the team has faced defeat in 11.
