In the end, Uganda scored 78 runs for 7 wickets in 18.1 overs to win for the first time in the history of the Twenty20 World Cup. The challenge was small but Uganda finally got success in the colorful match. They defeated Papua New Guinea with 3 wickets and 10 balls to spare.

PNG vs UGA: Papua New Guinea’s Bowlers Fight Back
Papua New Guinea bowlers performed well while defending the small challenge of 78 runs. They forced Uganda to struggle when it seemed that they would win the match easily. For Papua New Guinea, Eli Nao, and Norman Vanua took 2-2 wickets, while Chad Soper and captain Assad Wala gave a tough fight by taking 1-1 wickets.
Earlier, Papua New Guinea could not even play the prescribed 20 overs while batting first. The team was reduced to just 77 runs in 19.1 overs. Except for three batsmen Lega Sika (12), Hiri Hiri (15), and Kiplin Doriga (12), no batsman could touch the double-digit figure. Ugandan bowlers performed like a team. Alpesh Ramzani, Cosmas Kiyavuta, Juma Miyagi, and Frank Nsubuga took 2-2 wickets, captain Brian Masaba was successful in taking one wicket. Uganda needed just 78 runs to win but they struggled to get there.
