In Mumbai, on the first day of the one-off women’s Test against Australia at the Wankhede Stadium, 24-year-old medium-fast bowler Pooja Vastrakar and 27-year-old opening batsman Smriti Mandhana showcased their dominance.

Pooja took 4 wickets for 53 runs, restricting Australia to 219 runs in the first innings. In reply, India reached 98 for 1 by the end of the day’s play, with Smriti undefeated on 43 runs. Shefali Verma was dismissed for 40 runs earlier in the day.
