The 90th season of the Ranji Trophy begins on Friday, October 11. The opening match pits defending champions Mumbai against Baroda. The match between Mumbai vs Baroda will start at 9:30 AM. Elite Group Teams and Structure
The Ranji Trophy tournament has been organized in 2 phases this year. A total of 38 teams will participate in this tournament. These 38 teams are divided into 2 divisions namely Elite and Plate. Accordingly, there will be 32 teams in the elite group. These 32 teams have been divided into 4 groups at 8-8. The names of these 4 groups are Elite Group A, Elite Group B, Elite Group C, and Elite Group D. There are 6 teams in the plate group.

Also, both the teams that reach the final round will be included in the elite group in the next season. Also, the last 2 teams in the points table from the elite group will be placed in the plate group. This year Hyderabad and Meghalaya have been promoted to the elite group. Manipur and Goa have been relegated to the plate group.

Key Match Schedule
