The Indian team clinched the recently concluded 5-match Twenty20 series against Australia with a 4-1 victory. The stellar performance in this series has significantly benefited the Indian players, placing them in a strong position in the ICC Twenty-20 rankings.

India’s spinner, Ravi Bishnoi, showcased his prowess by taking nine wickets against Australia, solidifying his selection in the team.

The 23-year-old bowler has now attained the prestigious position of being the No. 1 bowler in the Twenty20 rankings, amassing 699 rating points, a remarkable rise from his previous fifth rank.

Since making his debut in February 2022, Bishnoi has claimed 34 wickets in 21 Twenty20 matches. His emergence caught attention during the Under-19 World Cup held in South Africa in 2020, where he topped the wicket charts with 17 wickets, contributing to India’s runner-up finish.

Despite facing competition from Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, and R Ashwin, Bishnoi didn’t have many opportunities. However, he made the most of his chance in the series against Australia, surpassing Afghanistan’s star bowler, Rashid Khan, to claim the top spot.

Adil Rashid and Vanindu Hasaranga share the third position, while Mahish Thikshana has slipped to fifth. India’s Akshar Patel has ascended from 16th to 11th in the rankings.

In the batting rankings, Suryakumar Yadav maintains his position at the top, while Rituraj Gaikwad is ranked seventh. Yashasvi Jaiswal has made a notable improvement, climbing 16 places to the 19th position.
