When India’s most senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement after the third Test match, everyone bid him an emotional farewell. The player had already made up his mind to retire before the series.
According to Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Ashwin decided to return to India immediately after announcing his retirement. Upon reaching his hometown, he was welcomed enthusiastically by his loved ones. His family, friends and cricket experts had planned the welcome.

On reaching home, Ravichandran Ashwin met his parents and friends in an emotional manner. During this, he was welcomed with loud traditional music in the background. The former cricketer thanked everyone.

Talking about Ravichandran Ashwin’s cricket career, he has played 106 Test matches so far. He has taken 537 wickets during this period. Ashwin is the second-highest wicket-taker in the red ball cricket format for India. He has also made significant contributions to the ODI format of cricket. He was the main player of the Indian team that won the ODI World Cup in 2011.
Ravichandran Ashwin has returned home after announcing his retirement but till now the BCCI has not yet announced any player as an alternative to Ravichandran Ashwin for the remaining matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Rohit Sharma said that the player had already made up his mind to retire. The captain had persuaded the spinner to stay for the pink ball Test in Adelaide. But the experienced bowler remained firm on his decision. Anyone Could not force him to stay till the end of the tour. Ashwin had announced his retirement after the third Test at Gabba.
