RCB Auction Picks: Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) dream of winning the IPL title can be fulfilled in 2025. RCB has a golden chance to build a squad of strong players in the IPL 2025 auction.
The franchise retained only three players for the upcoming season. Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and uncapped Yash Dayal were retained by RCB.
RCB Secures Bhuvneshwar Kumar for IPL 2025
RCB made a strong comeback last year after losing seven consecutive matches and made it to the playoffs. Now the team management is focusing on making its best squad, which reached the finals thrice but had to be satisfied with being the runners-up. RCB has made it to the playoffs 9 times in IPL history.
RCB has retained Virat Kohli for ₹21 crore and Rajat Patidar for ₹11 crore. Yash Dayal was retained by the franchise for ₹5 crore. Additionally, RCB has acquired Bhuvi for ₹10.75 crore.

Strategic Move for RCB’s Bowling Attack
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, recognized for his swing bowling and capability to excel in both the powerplay and death overs, will bring invaluable experience to the RCB squad.
His addition enhances the bowling attack alongside other key players like Josh Hazlewood. The franchise is hopeful that his skills will be instrumental in the team’s success in 2025.
RCB’s Auction Success
Krunal Pandya had a base price of 2 crores and was sold for 5.75 crores. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also had a base price of 2 crores but was sold for 10.75 crores.
Jitesh Sharma’s bidding process unfolded as follows: RCB initially aimed to purchase Jitesh Sharma for 7 crores, but Punjab Kings raised the Right to Match (RTM) paddle. RCB then made a decisive bid of 11 crores. Punjab Kings did not accept this bid, and ultimately, Jitesh Sharma became part of RCB for 11 crores.
