Shaan Masood will lead the Pakistani team in a three-match Test series in Australia starting December 14.
After a disappointing ODI World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board made changes, dismissing the selection committee, and Babar Azam resigned as captain.
Wahab Riaz, the newly elected selector, revealed the Pakistan squad for the Australia tour. Ricky Ponting, an Australian legend, mocked Pakistan after the squad announcement.
The Pakistan team departs for Australia on November 30, engaging in practice matches in early December.
The Test series begins on December 14, with Ponting criticizing Pakistan’s bowling attack. He stated that, except for Shaheen Afridi, none of the bowlers have the required skill.
The Pakistan squad includes Shan Masood (captain), Amir Jamal, Abdullah Shafiq, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Farim Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shehzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Rizwan, Nauman Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Sayyid Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The Test Series schedule:
- First Match: 14th to 18th December (Perth Stadium)
- Second Match: December 26-30 (Melbourne Cricket Ground)
