Rishabh Pant’s Injury: India got a chance to bat first in the 4th Test of the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy series. The Indian team played carefully on Day 1 and looked in control. At the end of the day, India had scored 264 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 83 overs. The game ended early due to bad light.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul gave India a solid start. They made a 94-run partnership for the first wicket. KL Rahul was out for 46 runs by Chris Woakes. After that, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan built another good stand, adding 46 more runs. Jaiswal scored 58 runs off 107 balls.

Sai Sudharsan, who returned after missing two Tests, played well. He scored 61 runs with 7 fours from 151 balls. However, Ben Stokes dismissed him.

Rishabh Pant Shines but Gets Injured

India had high hopes for captain Shubman Gill, but he failed to perform. He was out for just 12 runs, trapped LBW by Ben Stokes. This added pressure on the Indian team.

Vice-captain Rishabh Pant tried to take control of the innings with a steady knock. He built a useful partnership with Sai Sudharsan. Pant scored 37 runs in 48 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. But in the 68th over, disaster struck. Chris Woakes bowled a fast yorker, and Pant tried to play a reverse sweep. The ball hit his foot hard.

Pant was in clear pain and bleeding. The physio ran in, and he was taken off the field in a ground ambulance. He had to retire hurt at 37.

Rishabh Pant’s Injury Worries Team India

This is the second time Rishabh Pant has been injured in this Test series. In the second Test, he had injured his finger while keeping to Jasprit Bumrah. He didn’t keep wickets in that match.

There were already doubts about whether he would play the Manchester Test. Now, with this serious foot injury, it is uncertain whether he can return for this match. If not, India could face big trouble ahead.
