Nepali Cricket Fans’ Passion Shines in Dallas and Kathmandu
Nepal fans’ love for cricket has once again made the world take notice. A huge crowd was seen gathering in Dallas, USA to support the Nepal cricket team, who are playing the T20 World Cup for the first time since 2014. A live telecast of the match on a big screen in Kathmandu was organized by the government and thousands of fans were also present there.

But, the batsmen of Nepal bowed down in front of the bowlers of the Netherlands. Captain Rohit Paudel stood alone in front of the Netherlands. He set two major records.

Nepal’s Struggle Against Netherlands’ Bowling Attack
The Netherlands won the toss and elected to bowl first against Nepal. A large number of fans were present in Dallas to support Nepal. The match was being telecasted live on big screens in Nepal and a huge crowd was seen there too. But, Nepal’s batsmen could not get off to a good start. Openers Kushal Bhurtel (7) and Asif Shaikh (4) returned with 15 runs on the board. Tim Pringle and Logan Van Beek provided the shocks. Anil Shah (11), Kushal Malla (9), and Dipendra Singh Airi (1) also failed to play big knocks, making Nepal 53 for 5.

Captain Rohit Paudel’s Record-Breaking Effort
Nepal captain Rohit Poudel has registered a big record today. He became the youngest captain in the history of the Twenty20 World Cup tournament. Rohit is 21 years and 276 days old and has broken the record of Zimbabwe’s Prosper Utseya (22 years and 170 days). Moreover, Rohit also broke Rashid Khan’s (22 years) record of playing 50+ ODI and Twenty20 international matches at a young age today. Rohit was seen playing well but did not get support from the front. Sompal Kami retreated to the gourd. Sompal is the only player for Nepal to play in two Twenty20 World Cups.
Team Pringle sent back Rohit who scored 35 runs off 37 balls with 5 fours while giving a big blow to Nepal. Karan KC (17) and Gulshan Jha (14) both took the team to a hundred. Nepal managed to score 106 all out in 20 overs. Pringle and Beek took 3 wickets each, while Paul van Meekeren and Bass de Leed took 2 wickets each.
