SA vs PAK: Pakistan Beats South Africa by 81 Runs in 2nd ODI

SA vs PAK 2nd ODI: On the strength of the strong bowling of left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, Pakistan defeated hosts South Africa by 81 runs in the second ODI.

SA vs PAK: Shaheen and Naseem Shine in Big Win

Batting first in the match played at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town, Pakistan scored a strong score of 329 runs. In front of this, the South African team collapsed for 248 runs. Shaheen took four wickets while Naseem got four successes.

South African team’s batting remained weak in front of the huge score put up by Pakistan. Captain Temba Bavuma became the victim of Naseem Shah on the sixth ball of the sixth over. He scored only 12 runs. The second opener Tony de Giorgi became the victim of Abrar Ahmed after scoring 34 runs. Rassie van der Dussen was shown the way to the pavilion by Aga Salman. He scored only 23 runs. Aiden Markram scored 21 runs. His wicket was also taken by Abrar.

Klaasen Fights Alone for South Africa

Heinrich Klaasen fought for South Africa but he could not lead the team to victory. His innings of 97 runs went to waste. There was no century from Pakistan’s side either. Mohammad Rizwan scored the highest 80 runs for the team. Apart from him, Babar Azam played an innings of 73 runs.

Heinrich Klaasen held one end and tried to score runs quickly. He batted in his style and increased Pakistan’s worries, but this right-handed batsman did not get support from the other end. David Miller was expected to change the match along with Klaasen, but Shaheen gave a big relief to Pakistan by ending Miller’s innings.

After his departure, wickets kept falling one after the other. Marco Jansen (3), Andile Phehlukwayo (1), Bjorn Fortune (9), and Kwen Mphaka (1) were out in quick succession. Naseem Shah ended Klaasen’s innings and gave Pakistan the win. Klaasen faced 74 balls in his innings and hit four sixes besides eight fours.

SA vs PAK 2nd ODI: Pakistan’s Batting

Pakistan did not get a good start. Abdullah Shafiq fell prey to Jansen on the fourth ball of the first over without opening the account. Sam Ayub and Babar then took the team’s score to 53 runs. Here Ayub was dismissed after scoring 25 runs.

After this Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan made a great partnership. Both shared a 115-run partnership for the third wicket. Babar was sent to the pavilion by Andile Phehlukwayo, giving Pakistan the third blow. Rizwan also returned to the pavilion with a total score of 192. He was caught out by Mafaka on his ball.

Rizwan faced 82 balls and hit seven fours and three sixes. Babar faced 95 balls and scored a half-century with the help of seven fours. Salman Aga and Kamran Ghulam also played good innings. Salman scored 30 runs. Kamran Ghulam scored a half-century and scored 63 runs with the help of four fours and five sixes in 32 balls.

Marco Jansen took three wickets and Mafaka took four wickets. Bjorn Fortune got one wicket each.
