SA vs PAK: South Africa Whitewashes Pakistan in Test Series

SA vs PAK: South Africa, who have reached the finals of the World Test Championship, have blown away Pakistan in the second and final match. South Africa won the first match by 2 wickets. After that, South Africa whitewashed Pakistan by 10 wickets on the fourth day of the second Test with a margin of 2-0.

South Africa Wins Series 2-0 Against Pakistan

Pakistan had a chance to win the second match to level the series. But South Africa prevailed and had an unforgettable start to the New Year.

South Africa scored 615 runs in the first innings. After winning the toss and coming to bat, South Africa were 72 for 3. But then opener Ryan Rickelton and captain Temba Bavuma put on a match-winning double-century partnership.

Bavuma and Rickelton Lead South Africa’s Batting

The pair put on a 235-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Meanwhile, Temba Bavuma scored his fourth century in his Test career. Temba got out after scoring 106 runs in 179 balls. While Rickelton set a career-high individual score. Ryan scored his first double-century. Rhiannon scored 259 runs. Keshav Maharaj contributed 40 runs. South Africa thus scored 615 runs in the first innings.

Proteas Chase Target Easily

In reply to South Africa’s 615 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for 194 runs in the first innings. Babar Azam scored the highest knock of 58 runs. Other batsmen flopped. So South Africa forced Pakistan to bat. Pakistan batted brilliantly in the follow-on. Pakistan reached the 400 mark thanks to captain Shan Masood’s 145 and Babar Azam’s 81. Pakistan scored 478 runs, so South Africa got a challenge of 58 runs in the second innings for victory. This challenge was completed by the opening pair of South Africa.

The opening pair of David Bedingham and Aidan Markram completed the challenge of 7.1 with ease. David Bedingham scored 44 off 30 balls. While Aiden Markram contributed 1 run not out in 13 balls.
