Sairaj Bahutule Resigns: Former Indian and Mumbai leg-spinner Sairaj Bahutule has been working as a bowling coach at the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE) since November 2021. But suddenly on Friday, 31 January, he resigned citing personal reasons.
Sairaj Bahutule Resigns as BCCI Bowling Coach
Bahutule has made a big statement expressing gratitude to former BCCI secretaries Jay Shah, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman.
After resigning from the post of bowling coach at the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE), Sairaj Bahutule told the Times of India,
โYes, I have left the CoE due to personal/family reasons. I am grateful to former BCCI secretary Jay Shah, BCCI, Rahul Dravid (previous head of CoE) and VVS (current head of CoE) for allowing me to work with Indiaโs top spinners across formats.
I was with the India/India A and India Under-19 teams in at least 20 series/tours. I thoroughly enjoyed my three-year tenure at NCA/CoE and my services as a bowling coach will always be available to the BCCI.โ

A Look at Bahutuleโs Coaching Journey
Sairaj Bahutule has worked with former Team India coach Rahul Dravid and NCA head VVS Laxman. Immediately after the T20 World Cup 2024, he served as the bowling coach of the Indian team until Morne Morkel was appointed.
He was the bowling coach of the team in the T20 series against South Africa in November last year. At the same time, he worked as a bowling coach in the last two Under-19 World Cups.
Last year, Bahutule was the head coach of the India Emerging Team, which recently participated in the Asia Emerging Cup tournament in Oman. He also went to Sri Lanka as a bowling coach for the white-ball series. He was also the bowling consultant of the Indian team during the Border-Gavaskar series in February-March 2023.
