Sam Ayub surpassed Rohit Sharma’s record with a brilliant innings and can break Shubman Gill’s record
Pakistan’s rising star, Sam Ayub, achieved a new feat by surpassing Indian Captain Rohit Sharma during the third ODI against South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
Sam Ayub’s breaks Rohit’s record
South Africa won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. Kagiso Rabada gave a big blow to Abdullah Shafiq by returning to the pavilion on zero. However, Sam Ayub and former captain Babar Azam formed a crucial partnership to stabilize the innings.
Sam Ayub completed his half-century by starting the innings with brilliant fours. With his aggressive batting, he left Rohit Sharma behind. Rohit Sharma’s 2024 run tally of 1,142 across all formats. Ayub’s total now stands at 1,170 runs, overtaking Rohit with his superb 50-run milestone.
