Perhaps this was the reason why Jasprit Bumrah’s streak of years was broken in this match. After 3 years and more than 4400 balls, a batsman has hit a six against Jasprit Bumrah in Test cricket. This feat was done by 19-year-old Australian player Sam Konstas. After 4483 balls, 1145 days i.e. more than 3 years, a batsman hit a six in Test cricket against Jasprit Bumrah.

Konstas Shows No Fear Against Bumrah

Sam Konstas hit not one, but two sixes against Bumrah. The last time a batsman hit a six against Jasprit Bumrah in red-ball cricket was in 2021. Not only this, for the first time since 2018, a batsman hit two sixes in one innings against Jasprit Bumrah. English batter Jos Buttler did it in 2018.

Konstas made several attempts to play the reverse scoop and ramp shot in his innings. On his 11th ball in international cricket, the top-order batsman tried to play a reverse scoop against Bumrah, but he failed, and then the same thing happened in the next over. However, he succeeded in doing so in his third attempt.

Konstas Aims to Target Bumrah Again

Overall, Konstas scored 34 off 33 balls against Bumrah, hitting four fours and two sixes. The youngster looked full of confidence throughout his innings and during an innings interview with an Australian broadcaster, Konstas said, “I will continue to target him. Hopefully he can come back.
