Sanju Samsonโs Successful Surgery, Recovery, and IPL Comeback
Sanju Samson underwent surgery on Tuesday and will take a week to recover. Samson was injured in the fifth and final T20 International match against England. Jofra Archerโs ball hit his hand. In that match, Samson scored 16 runs in 7 balls. Then Dhruv Jurel replaced him in wicketkeeping and India won the match by a huge margin of 150 runs.
Due to injury, Sanju Samson could not participate in the Ranji Trophy quarter-final match. Samson was to represent Kerala against Jammu and Kashmir. The match was played in Pune on 8 February.
Apart from this, Sanju Samsonโs performance in the T20 International series against England was also not good. He scored a total of 51 runs in five matches at an average of just 10.20 while his strike rate was 118.60.

Sanju Samson Missed Matches and Poor Form
Sanju Samson last played an ODI against South Africa in 2023, where he scored a century. After this, India played only three ODIs in 2024. Samson was dropped from Keralaโs ODI squad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he did not attend the preparatory camp before the tournament.
Anyway, Sanju Samson can now be seen in cricket action in the upcoming IPL. Rajasthan Royals made it to the playoffs last year under the captaincy of Samson. Rajasthan Royals lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier of IPL 2024.
