Shaheen Afridi In BPL: Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi is all set to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2024-25) for the first time.
This star fast bowler has been given a place in the team by defending champion Fortune Barishal. It is worth noting that the 11th edition of BPL is scheduled to start on December 30.
Shaheen Afridi Joins Fortune Barishal for BPL 2024-25
Sher-e-Bangla will face Fortune Barishal and new team Darbar Raja in the season opener at the National Stadium. Fortune Barishal directly signed Shaheen Afridi, and the 24-year-old will play the first five matches of the tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed him to participate with a no-objection certificate valid until January 15.
“Pakistani left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi will play for Fortune Barishal in the upcoming BPL,” Fortune Barishal said in a statement.
Moreover, some of the other direct signings of Fortune Barisal include Kyle Meyers, David Malan, Mohammad Nabi, Faheem Ashraf, Ali Mohammad and Jahandad Khan. The team will try their best to successfully defend the title.

Fortune Barishal Gears Up to Defend BPL Title
Talking about Fortune Barisal, the team had a great performance in the previous edition of BPL. Finishing the group stage in third place, Barisal won the tournament with an exceptional performance throughout the season.
The team won the eliminator of the tournament against Chattogram Challengers and qualified for the BPL final by winning Qualifier 2 against Rangpur Riders. Apart from this, Barisal defeated Comilla Victorians in the summit clash of the tournament to clinch the title
Chasing a target of 154 runs. Barishal did well to clinch the title and will be hoping for another good season in the upcoming campaign. It is worth noting that Barisal will open the new BPL season against Durbar Rajshahi at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on December 30.
