Shubman Gill, who returned to the pavilion without opening the account in the first innings, played a sensible innings in the second innings. After the departure of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Gill took the responsibility and along with Rishabh Pant, brought the team to a strong position. Gill scored this century at Chennaiβs Chepauk, which is called the second home of former India captain MS Dhoni. Dhoni plays for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL
Pant and Shubman Gill shared a 167-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Pant also scored a century in this inning. Together, the two took Team Indiaβs lead beyond 400. He hit nine fours and three sixes till he completed his century.
