Shubman Gill’s Century Shines at Chepauk
India’s young batsman Shubman Gill has batted brilliantly at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium and scored a century against Bangladesh. Gill completed his century in the second session on Saturday, the third day. This is the fifth century of this right-handed batsman.
Shubman Gill, who returned to the pavilion without opening the account in the first innings, played a sensible innings in the second innings. After the departure of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Gill took the responsibility and along with Rishabh Pant, brought the team to a strong position. Pant and Shubman Gill shared a 167-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Pant also scored a century in this inning. Together, the two took Team India’s lead beyond 400.
