Shubman Gill’s Wickets in the 4th Test: What Went Wrong See Video

Shubman Gill’s Wickets in the 4th Test: The fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 has taken an intense turn with India’s captain Shubman Gill becoming the focus of attention—both from the England players and their fans. The young Indian skipper was heavily booed by the Manchester crowd as he walked out to bat during the fourth match at Old Trafford. This reaction came after his sharp comments in a press conference, where he criticised England’s openers for time-wasting during the Lord’s Test.
Shubhaman Gill’s Wickets in the 4th Test: A Key Turning Point
Gill entered the field in the 41st over, after the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Despite the loud boos and pressure from the home crowd, he started with a few confident strokes. However, the tension peaked in the 50th over, when Ben Stokes bowled a brilliant delivery that came in sharply. Gill didn’t offer a shot, was hit on the pad, and was given out LBW after some hesitation by the umpire.
Even though Gill opted for a DRS review, it didn’t go his way. His innings ended at 12 runs off 23 balls, with one boundary. Stokes celebrated the wicket with a roar, intensifying the rivalry between the two captains.

A Fiery Rivalry Builds
Gill’s troubles with the English crowd began after his verbal spat with Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett during the Lord’s Test. His criticism in the pre-match press conference—stating the openers were late by 90 seconds—did not sit well with England.
Despite the drama, former cricketer Dinesh Karthik praised Gill for showing fire and leadership. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said Gill’s aggressive attitude gives Team India an identity and adds to the drama of the series.
With the series on the line, Gill’s leadership and composure will be key as India fights to level the series 2-2 in the ongoing Test.
