Rohit Sharma’s Post-Match Remarks
After the match, Rohit Sharma expressed both frustration and admiration. “The challenge was worth it, but we needed to bat better to complete the target. We started well but lost momentum after the first 10 overs. The spinners played a significant role, and we struggled after losing the first 2 wickets,” he said. He praised the partnership between KL Rahul and Axar Patel, who added 57 runs for the sixth wicket, keeping India’s hopes alive. “It’s disappointing not to score 1 run in 14 balls, but these things happen,” Rohit added.
Appreciation for Sri Lanka
Rohit Sharma also appreciated Sri Lanka’s performance, acknowledging their strong play and expressing pride in Team India’s fight till the end. “Sri Lanka played well, and both teams had chances to win the match. Staying in the game was crucial, but we should have scored that one run,” he said.
